Joelle Martinec found her passion for dance at a young age and carries that energy with her through inspirational and athletically challenging classes.

Joelle’s fast paced movement and exuberant energy bring out parts of you that might be sleeping that day.  You know without a doubt that she is there for you.  No matter how much experience the dancer has, Joelle takes the time to correct and work with her students.  Class starts with a yoga and strength based warm up, pushing the body just farther than the mind thinks possible. Control and awareness is the focus. Moving on to across the floor, Joelle loves to challenge her students with direction changes, turns, jumps and intricate footwork.  Her love and passion for life, people and technique shines brightly through her class and her work.

Versatility is apparent in her choreography as well.  She can teach anything from Tango Inspired and West Coast Jazz, Musical Theatre, Modern Contemporary and Lyrical.  Learning of the choreography is just the tip of the iceberg in Joelle’s class.  Her desire is that all of her students walk out of class with more consciousness about where their personal movement comes from. Joelle is always stretching herself to walk down new paths.  Thus, somehow, you become swept up on a journey of your own.

Joelle is founder, artistic director, and choreographer for Los Angeles based SoleVita Dance Company who recently completed successful dates in San Jose, Costa Rica and Los Angeles with their reparatory show, “MoveMeant”.  SoleVita has made appearances in Fashion Minga for LA Fashion week, in Brad Stanley and the Foxflies’ music video for “Tik Tok Nation”, Adjoa Skinner’s video for “Recession Song”, Ashley Chambliss’ music video for “My Universe” and released two dance shorts.  In 2013: SoleVita has performed for a sold out house at “Celebrate Dance”, has taken part in shows for Ignite Dance Workshops, Pasadena Dance Festival, Nancy Evans Dance Theatre. In the fall “MoveMeant”, SoleVita's annual repertory show will be mounted in Los Angeles and New York.  Joelle can be seen in "How To Be A Heartbreaker" as the business woman in GLEE’s “Feud” Episode. She is currently a faculty member at Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles, master teacher for “Le Reve“ in Las Vegas and has taught all over the United States as well as in Bosnia, China, Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada, Guatemala, India and Japan. She is affiliated with children’s non-profit organizations: Genesis Sarajevo in Bosnia and New Possibilities Children’s Foundation in India.  Joelle has choreographed 2 successful Christmas LIVE! shows at Los Angeles’ famed NOKIA Theatre.  Her choreography can be seen in “Too Much” a music video from Erin Muir featuring Season 8 SYTYCD finalist and SoleVita Dance Company member Marko Germar.

As a dancer Joelle has worked with:  The Cohen Brothers (Fargo) in “The Big Lebowski”, Marguerite Derricks (Austin Powers) in “A Time For Dancing”, Jerry Evans (The Mask) in “Romy and Michelle: In The Beginning”, and Michael Rooney (Kylie Minogue) in the MTV music award winning video “It’s Ohh So Quiet”.  Joelle played “The Prosecuting Attorney” in  J.T. Horenstein’s  production “The Question”, and was  the assistant choreographer to Denise Leitner for the Los Angeles production of “The Who’s Tommy, The Awakening” featuring Tony Award Winner Alice Ripley, Nona Hendryx and “Wicked’s” Jenna Leigh Green.  Joelle has performed in countless stage shows for Buena Vista Special Events and The Platinum Guild.  She has been a guest artist for The Wes Veldink Movement and a soloist for Liz Imperio’s Instincts Live Media Dance Company, where Lewis Segal of the Los Angeles Times called her performance “feisty”.

Passionate and enthusiastic, Joelle’s energy is contagious to not only the dancers, but to everyone around her.
