Bill is the Executive Director of EDGE Performing Arts Center and
Co-Director of the EDGE Scholarship Program. He is a Director of L.A.
DANCEFORCE and a Founding Member and Co-Owner of L.A. DanceForce Inc., where
he is the Secretary and Chief Financial Officer. Bill is an instrumental
component of the corporation and has been involved in every aspect of its
operation from its beginning.
Bill comes from modern and jazz companies on the East Coast having changed
professions from medicine to dance. Arriving in Los Angeles on a dance
scholarship, Bill has appeared in commercials for Hyundai, Crystal Light,
Burger King and Kirin Beer. He was a featured performer on the 5th and 6th
season of the original television series Fame, as well as multiple
appearances on the series Amazing Stories and Shelley Duvall's, Faerie Tale
Theatre. Bill can be seen in the feature films Back To The Future, Girls
Just Want To Have Fun and Electric Boogaloo as well as the outrageous video
Rappin' Rodney by Rodney Dangerfield. In addition to film, television,
commercials and video, Bill has been involved in many live theatre and
musical productions including A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The
Forum, Cabaret, Pippin and Carnival. Throughout his career, Bill has worked
with an impressive list of artists that includes Francis Ford Coppola, John
Lithgow, Christopher Hewitt, Harry Dean Stanton and Lolita Davidovich.
While Bill worked professionally as a dancer and actor, he began teaching
dance in Los Angeles in 1983. His comedic style and knack for making
students understand quickly established him as a highly sought after teacher
in Los Angeles and throughout the United States for private workshops and
conventions. His teaching career has taken him throughout the United States,
Canada, Australia and New Zealand where he is an advisor for a dance
syllabus. In 1988 Bill and collaborator Randy Allaire created the ProDance
Training Program. The renowned customized and comprehensive training program
completes and establishes aspiring professional dancers. As said by the national publication Dance Spirit, "the
program is the incubator
of new talent in Los Angeles." Alumni
have gone on to dance with many top names in entertainment appearing on
stage, television and screen, as well as careers as choreographers,
teachers, actors, casting directors, studio owners, dance
agents and talent
agency owners. Since 1988, Bill has produced and directed the annual
scholarship and EDGE show held in July.
Bill has worked on corporate events with Nokia, Fujisawa Pharmaceutical, TIA
and IBEW. Bill has also choreographed for the NCOA's tribute to MGM Musical
Movies, as well as Ultimate Idol, created by Mindy Sterling at the famed
Groundlings Theatre, and Beverly Winwood's Actors Showcase, featuring Paul
Rubens, Tim Bagley, Mindy Sterling, Jennifer Coolidge and Michael Hitchcock.
